I am a native-born, 4th generation Texan.  My family moved to Gregg County when I was two, where my dad expanded his small business as a contractor.  I’ve lived on family land 48 out of my 60 years where I homeschooled four children.  They are all grown, married, live in Texas, and have children of their own, except one. They are small business owners, stay-at-home moms and the youngest is serving in the Marine Corps.  I have seven grandchildren and one on the way.  They fuel the passion for my desire to serve my community.  In the early 90’s my passion for American History grew when I was blessed to participate in helping to pioneer a private school where David Barton (founder of Wall Builders; wallbuilders.com) gave teacher’s training sessions.  I then expounded on my learning experience while teaching my own children at home.  In more recent years I have received training on Civics and the Constitution from Patriot Academy (Rick Green and David Barton; patriotacademy.com). I now facilitate courses on citizenship through Patriot Academy. Finally, I am taking online courses with Hillsdale College on government and the US Constitution.
